Adam Bernstein is the President and Managing Director of The Bernstein Companies. He is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of TBC and its' affiliates which employ over 700 people. He is also President of Millbank Hotel Partners which is the parent company of its' 1,800 room hotel division. Upon joining the Company in 1985, Adam immediately entered the frenetic pace of the 1980's by helping to grow TBC's land development business by buying, zoning, sub-dividing, and successfully selling over 1,500 acres of commercial property in Northern Virginia. Knowing when to enter and exit markets has been a trademark of TBC. Accordingly, Adam directed the effort to reposition the Company towards further building its income producing portfolio as the 1990's arrived. To take advantage of the real estate and banking fallout, Adam helped the Company form an alliance with a Fortune 500 investor to buy over $150,000,000 in REO and loans from the RTC, banking institutions and private owners. This served as the impetus to completing millions of dollars of transactions over the last several years. His efforts have resulted in the establishment of Consortium Two, L.P., a $100,000,000 equity fund of which Adam serves as managing member of the general partnership. Adam is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He remains actively involved in alumni affairs and was appointed an Associate Trustee in 1992. Following in the line of a successful real estate and banking family, Adam was previously on the Board of a local banking institution. As a third-generation
owner, Adam continues building on the success of his family and participates
in a number of civic activities in and around Washington D.C.
